Property Details

Beautfully restored 15C house in idyllic quiet village with large gardens and pool. There are two bedrooms and we can sleep up to 2/4 people and each is fitted with comfortable beds, occasional furniture, storage and ample lighting.

There is a beautifully fitted kitchen with ample utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. Even though it is great to sample Tuscan food in local restaurants, we appreciate how much it can be part of the holiday to buy local ingredients and create your own Tuscan Meals. Briefly, the kitchen includes a microwave, full size oven and hob, fridge freezer and because we feel that it is great to cook in Tuscany but not wash up, we have included a full size dishwasher for your convenience.

Once you have prepared your meals, enjoy eating them outside on your beautiful and private terrace.

Of course, we hope that you will be able to do all your relaxation outside in the sunshine, but for the odd wet day and particularly in early and late season, we offer a comfortable and tastefully furnished sitting room. There is a television and DVD player, comfortable armchairs, storage and occasional furniture. The main and most imposing feature of this room is the hugely magnificent Tuscan fireplace which houses the wood burning stove.

The bathroom is newly restored and includes the usual bathroom features of shower and cubicle, wash hand basin WC and bidet.

Outside is beautiful with a large and secluded garden where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic views. Central is of course the pool and sun terraces – our guests love to return after a day of sightseeing and have a relaxing and refreshing swim – indeed, so relaxing is the garden that many people are reluctant to leave and spend house and prefer to laze the day away in the shade of an olive tree while enjoying the surroundings. Ample garden furniture is provided.

The grounds are full of interesting features, ancient old walls, olive trees, vines – not so long ago, the garden was producing its own wine. Close to the front door, here is a huge vine which produces beautiful table grapes. All the hard terraces are either in Tuscan ‘cotto’ or natural stone.

There is ample parking space on the property.

Area Description

Casa Giardino is situated about 50 Km (28 Miles) east of Florence with the journey time being about an hour by car. The house is in the historic village of Spalanni with the nearest large village, Strada/Castel San Niccolo with a wide range of local shops being about 5 minutes away by car. The closest shop to the house is 3 or 4 minutes away. The closest town is Bibbiena which is about 15 minutes by car. Arezzo, the provincial capital is about 40 minutes away. The house is well placed to explore the local area and to allow visits to Florence, Chianti, Sienna, Cortona and even Rome can be reached from Arezzo in an hour by train. Salmon fishing is available by permit during the season and Poppi boasts an excellent golf coarse with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.
